love is the center of God
Love is not something God does, it is the center of who God is.  Love means self-sacrificial, other oriented love.  This is the kind of love shared by Father, Son, and Spirit in the trinity.  This kind of love is the way humans were created to live in relation to God, each other, and the creation.

Jesus is the center of our faith
We believe that God has spoken about his love above all in the only Son, the Word who became flesh and revealed the divine being and character.  Jesus has shown us exactly what the Father is like.  On the cross, Jesus shows us the kind of love that comes to us, and the kind of love that we are called to show at all times to all people, no exceptions.

community is the center of our lives
In both old and new testaments God’s central activity is creating and empowering a community of people to demonstrate love to each other and bless the whole world.  Jesus gathered a group of disciples and taught them the way of the Kingdom lived out together.  They ate, learned, listened, prayed, and worked together.  The sermon on the mount is the new way of life we are called to, and the church in acts is the community we are growing into.

reconciliation is the center of our work
While some christians believe evangelism is the center of their work, other emphasize social justice.  These two important parts of the work of the church can be brought together in reconciliation.  We are seeking to work for peace.  This means inviting people to friendship with God, each other, and the creation.  We must be transformed from the ways of the Kingdom of darkness: racism, sexism, consumerism, and individualism to the “one thing” of the Kingdom of God, LOVE.
